Abstract:
Three-dimensional elastic-plastic finite element technology of the forming process of outer-spiral-rib tube was studied with the aid of nonlinear FEM software MARC.Drawing process of outer-spiral-rib copper tube was simulated.The stress-strain distribution discipline in steady-state was obtained.The results show that in the drawing process,the tube produces axial elongation,but the prolongation is not uniform at different parts of copper tube.The ultimate elongation distortion occurs in the core of rib bottom.In the circumferential direction,the tube produces compression deformation on the whole,but at the bottom of ribs,it produces some elongation and the strain is plus.In the radial direction,it occurs compression deformation.At and after fixed-diameter area,axial stress is all tensional stress,but it distributes nonuniform along the thickness.Similarly,drawing circumferential stress also distributes nonuniform along the thickness,it is minus at the outer surface of the rib-bottom zones after fixed-diameter area and it is plus at the inner surface.
