Abstract:
The nub with thin and curved surface is an important part used for a special product.It is always manufactured by machining process.The machining process takes a long time and wastes materials.In present paper,the nub was made by forging technology on press.The forging die was designed with curved surface divider.By trial production and batch process, the forged parts needed no machining process.They were satisfied with the dimensions and shapes required by the drawing.There was an excellent consistency between the shapes and dimensions.This process offers technical and economic advantages compared to machining process,including high material utilization,shorter processing cycle and low cost.
