Abstract:
The temperature is one of the important factors which affects continuous extrusion process.The temperature field of the billet in copper continuous extrusion process was simulated by finite volume method.The numerical results show that the temperature is affected mainly by metal plastic deforming,and temperature is affected less by friction between extrusion wheel groove and copper rod.Based on energy principle,the calculation formula of product temperature in continuous extrusion process was given.The theory results show that(1)the product temperature is about 490~530 ℃ in usual copper continuous extrusion process;(2)when the current of motor armature is raised by 10%,the temperature of the product will go up 50 ℃,and meanwhile the chamber temperature will be increased by 13~20 ℃;(3)when wheel rotate speed mounts up,the product temperature can not be risen and therefore product will not become soft.
