Abstract:
The forming force is the key factor in open-type cold extrusion process.Based on the method of numerical simulation,the diameter of steel billet,entrance half angle of concave die and the dimension of spline were analyzed for the forming force on the spline processing with the help of a rigid-plasticity finite element software Deform-3D.The simulation results show that the forming force will be increased markedly by increasing the diameter of steel billet and the entrance half angle.In addition,the forming force will be increased by raising or narrowing the spline.The processing tests show that the result of numerical simulation will be the guidance of production practice.
