Abstract:

Because of complicated figuration,local shape and inhomogeneous deformation during the forming process,the automobile covers become one of the biggest difficulties for designing and manufacturing automobile.The formability analysis for large-scaled automobile covers was emphasized combining with the production of the B-pillar.The structure character and function request were summarized.The numerical simulation on the process of automotive B-pillar drawing was carried out by AutoForm software and the dangerous forming areas were discovered.The processing parameters,such as the layout of the drawbead,blank holding force,process boss and the blank shape,were adjusted and optimized according to the simulation results.The mass defects were removed,the stability of forming process was improved,and then the bases of process determining and die design of B-pillar forming were supplied for actual production.
