Abstract:
A large amount of topological information is omitted during projection and the elements in 2D drawing are non-associative.This causes much time consuming in some design works based on 2D drawings.In order to improve design efficiency and automation,recognition was applied to 2D drawing of sheet metal part and sheet metal features were extracted to help to get part blank shape.According to the alignments of views in 2D drawing,the shapes of sheet metal features were automatically recognized in one view and extracted by dividing the related views in the drawing.After extraction, bending features could be developed via their representations in different views.The final blank shape of the sheet metal part could be formed by translating and rotating all the developed features to combine them together.
