Abstract:
Based on nonlinear explicit finite element soft ANSYS/LS-DYNA and taking 60 kg·m-1 heavy rail as a subject,some puzzles were solved effectively,such as entering difficulty of rolling and large mesh distortion ,ect.,while taking advantage of 3D elastic-plastic thermal-mechanical coupled FEM to simulate the rolling process of heavy rail in universal mill. The variational situation of stress,strain distribution and draught pressure in typical pass was analyzed. The result shows that both of the vertical pressure and horizontal stress that work on the workpiece at the beginning of entering are compressive stress,strain is related to the degree of plastic deformation,and a negative correlation between rolling force and speed is found as well.
