Abstract:
Two types of B170P1 high-strength steel with different thicknesses were welded with different laser welding process parameters.The tailor-welded blanks were examined in tensile test.The mechanical property was investigated for the different laser welding parameters.The results show that the welding specimens with higher power have lower plasticity and ductility if the welding quality is eligible.Increasing the welding speed appropriately can enhance the plastic nature and ductility of welding specimens.The true stress-strain curve will be higher with the increasing heat input.It indicates that the plasticizing capacity will decrease with the increase of heat input.Small heat input can increase the plastic forming properties of tailor-welded blanks.
