Abstract:

The foundational principle of rigid-plastic finite element method is discribed in this article. To the compression procedure of plane strain with and without ends the 8 nodal curved quadrilatoral isoparametric elements are introduced for the calculation of the flow velocity field, strain field and boundary traction. The folding and the phynomenon of one bulge and twin bulge with different ratios of hight to width appearing in the practical compressing are discribed. The total pressure and the distortion of the net-check on the section got from the calculation have been com pared with the experemental data.
