Abstract：

Roll forging is the main preforming operation for press forging. The technological parameters of the elliptical cavities for the large roll forging have been discussed because the usual functions and data are not suitable for the large roll forging, which stock is large in section and in length. The relational functions between the geometric parameters have been derived, which can be used to calculate precisely. A method for designing the elliptical cavities of the large roll forging has been developed. The formulas and method suggested by author provide a guidance for practical application.
