Abstract:
A technology for the superplastic forming of metal sheets with the refractory concrete die is put forward in this paper. The fact that the paraboloid components with a major axis of 1834 mm and a minor axis of 1500mm, which are used for satellite receiving antennas, have been auceessfully formed by using the refractory concrete die gives full supput to the conclusion that in the superplastic forming of metal sheets, the refractory concrete die can replace that of metal to reduce the difficulties in manufacturing the forming die and to save the expensive metal material as well as to cut down the heating power consumption, that is, to increase the company benefits.
