Abstract:
A new technique named as forward hydro-mechanical ironing is put forward. Formulas for counting the force-transmitting area's tensile stress of ironinig are derived out, and experiments of forward hydro-mechanical ironing in turned soft-aluminum pre forms are carried out. When hydraulic pressure reaches 120 MPa, ironing limit coefficient of turned soft-aluminum pre forms reduces from 0. 5 to 0. 3. This shows that the new technique of forward hydro-mechanical ironing can effectively increase the forming limit of ironing for a single time.
